Philosophy of the Program
WE believe that the patient, conceptualized as an individual, family, or community, is the focus of the healthcare professional. We believe each individual is unique and holds values and beliefs reflective of his/her culture, spiritual and life experience.
WE believe that there are core competencies that enable a healthcare professional to provide optimal care for patients. The core competencies are the basis of the healthcare professionals ability to give, and coordinate caring practices.
WE believe in being strong role models to students through our own commitment to excellence as administrators, teachers and clinicians as well as our dedication to cultivating a sense of professional empowerment, a desire for lifelong learning, and in instilling a noble sense of service in our students.
WE believe in working with students as a community of learners in which everyone functions at a high level of accountability, flexibility, and integrity.
